It's here! Nick and I are finally on our way to our honeymoon destination of Bora Bora! We planned this trip a year ago and are so excited 1) to have narrowly escaped the Nor'easter and 2) to be on our way. Having been in a long-distance relationship for over seven years before getting married, our travel money and time off have always been put toward visiting each other, so we haven't really done a "vacation" like this before. Itinerary includes much beach time, fishgazing and a hot stone massage.
First, we made a quick stop in L.A. - travel tip which was shared with us: when going to a fabulous tropical destination in the winter, if you have a stop before leaving the country, make sure to leave at least a day between flights. We took advantage of a (slightly extended, thanks to the blizzard) gap by visiting the Getty Museum and doing a mini-tour of some of L.A.'s best ramen. As you may remember, ramen/noodle soup is a bit of a life-long obsession of mine.
First night: Ramen Yamadaya; delicious spicy tonkotsu variety, silky and rich broth. Great flavor, but the noodles were a tad thin for my liking (but still yummy)

Second night: Daikokuya; amazing broth and perfect noodles; I also preferred the chashu (melt-in-your-mouth)
Third night: writing from the airport lounge: (apologies for awkward post as the mobile version of blogger is challenging to manipulate)
See you soon!
