However, having a politically minded group of friends occasionally turns up fun reads such as this one: Hunch is a website that recommends everything from books, music, food, vacation spots, clothing brands, etc. based on what you say you like (through short questionnaires and Facebook/social media connections). The overall mission of the site is to create a "taste graph" of the web, organizing data and making connections across interests. Pretty cool, eh?
The post my friend sent out last week was an entertaining statistical report of "Food Profiles of Self-Described Liberals vs. Conservatives." Basically Hunch analyzed food preferences of people with different political "tastes." Of course, the results reflect only Hunch users and are mere correlations, but I went through and found it to be a fun exercise anyway. As usual, I fell decently middle-of-the-road. (The quirkier the pasta name the better, but give me steak fries or give me death! Also, what about people who don't like jelly on PB&J at all?)
For now, I'll self-describe as "liberal" with regard to seasoning and "conservative" when it comes to exercising portion control (as in, I eat a lot).
oh my! the stereotypes! the hilarity! very entertaining :D
